Flori Jewellery Privacy Policy
(As of January 1, 2024)
This data protection declaration gives you an overview of how your data is processed at Flori Jewellery.
If you have a question about this data protection declaration or the topic of data protection at Flori Jewellery, you can contact our data protection team at info@flori-jewellery.ch or send an email to our data protection team. To exercise this, including withdrawing consent for marketing purposes, unsubscribing from the newsletter, etc. For more information, see the sections What data protection rights do I have? and contact person.
How you can read these Privacy Notice: We offer you various ways to read this privacy policy. First of all, you will find some very basic information in this section. We have then sorted this data protection declaration according to topics relevant to you and divided it into individual chapters accordingly. If you are already a “professional”, jump directly to individual chapters.
We have preceded each chapter with a short overview text. This overview text briefly summarizes the content of the chapter. If you just want to get a quick overall overview of all data processing, we recommend reading the overview texts. If you would like to familiarize yourself with the details, you can click on “More” below the respective overview text. You will then be shown the full content of the chapter.
We have avoided cross-references as often as possible. This means that all information is explained coherently, no matter which chapter you are currently reading. However, if you read this Privacy Policy from beginning to end, you may notice repetition of text. We couldn’t completely avoid a few cross-references. For example, we have summarized all country-specific data processing in a separate chapter and always refer to this chapter if country-specific data processing occurs.
What you will learn in this Privacy Notice:
- Which data is stored by Flori Jewellery.
- What we do with this data and why it is needed.
- What data protection rights and choices you have.
- What technologies and data we use to personalize and tailor our services and content to provide you with a safe, simple, seamless and customized shopping experience.
- What technologies and data we use for advertising, including the tracking technologies used.
1.What data does Flori Jewelery process?
Depending on whether you contact us online, by telephone or otherwise, different data from different sources may come into play. You provide us with much of the data we process when you use our service or contact us, for example when you register and provide your name or email address or address. However, we also receive technical device and access data that is collected automatically when you interact with our Services. This could, for example, be information about which device you use. We collect further data through our own data analyzes (e.g. as part of market research studies and customer reviews). We may also receive information about you from third parties, such as credit reporting agencies and payment service providers.
When we say “your data” we mean personal data. This is any information that would allow us to identify you immediately or when combined with other information. Examples: your name, your telephone number, your customer number, order numbers or your email address. Any information that does not allow us to identify you (even when combined with other information) is considered non-personal information. Non-personal data is also referred to as anonymous data. If we combine your personal information with anonymous information, all data in that data set will be considered personal information. If we delete personal data from a piece of information or a data set about you, then the remaining data in that data set will no longer be considered personal data. This process is called anonymization. In general, if we ask you to provide certain personal information, you can of course refuse to do so. You decide what information you give us. However, we may then not be able to provide you with the services you require (or not optimally). For example, we cannot have packages delivered without providing a delivery address. If only certain information is required in connection with a service (mandatory information), we will inform you of this by means of an appropriate label.
Profile data is personal and demographic information about you (so-called master data) and your individual interests that you provide to us when registering for your customer account. Your profile data includes, for example:
- Your first and last name
- Your contact details
- Your preferences, e.g. regarding brands, product types or styles
- Demographic information such as your gender, age and location
- Mandatory information is usually your name, your email address and a password of your choice.
- Your email address and password will later form your login data.
For the use of restricted, paid or personalized services, additional mandatory information may also be required, such as your date of birth or your title (e.g. to be able to direct you to the Zalando shop homepage that matches your gender) or your preferred brands and clothing styles.
Profile data may also include further information about you and your interests. These can be collected as part of registering for the service or added later. This is the case, for example, if you later add voluntary information to your profile or if you want to use your customer account to register for a service that requires additional mandatory information.
If you contact us, we will collect your contact details. Depending on how you contact us (e.g. by telephone or email), your contact information may include your name, postal addresses, telephone numbers, fax numbers, email addresses, details of your social network profiles (e.g. we receive your Facebook ID if you contact us via Facebook), user name and similar contact details.
When you order something from Flori Jewellery, we collect your purchase details. Depending on the type of purchase and the processing status, the purchase data may contain the following information:
- Order number
- Details about the items purchased (name, size, color, purchase price, etc.)
- Information about the payment method
- Delivery and billing addresses
- Notices and communications related to purchases (e.g. cancellation notices, complaints and customer service communications)
- Delivery and payment status, e.g. “Done” or “Shipped”
- Return status, e.g. “Successfully completed”
- Information from service providers involved in executing the contract (for mail order purchases, for example, tracking numbers from parcel service providers)
We offer you the common payment methods in online trading – in particular advance payment, credit card, PayPal or invoice. To make the payment, we collect the payment data you provide. We receive further payment data from external payment service providers and credit agencies with whom we work to carry out payments and check creditworthiness. We only pass on data to our payment service providers that is necessary for payment processing.
Examples of payment details include:
- Preferred method of payment
- Billing addresses
- IBAN and BIC or
- Account number and
- Bank routing number
- Credit card details
- Credit data
The payment data also includes other information that is directly related to payment processing and credit checks. This applies, for example, to information that external payment service providers use for identification, such as your PayPal ID (if you pay with PayPal).
When you interact with our Services, we collect data that helps us learn what content, topics, products, product types, brands or styles you are interested in. For example, we may infer which styles and product categories you are interested in from shopping data, wish list contents and your age (where this information is available to us) and through comparisons with users with similar characteristics. This means we can show you the products that are likely to be most relevant to you first the next time you search.
In addition to the interests you communicate directly, we may also derive your interests from other data we collect. For example, if you repeatedly visit a certain area of Flori Jewellery, we can infer your interests from your access data as part of the usage analysis (e.g. we can deduce that you may be interested in sports if you regularly visit the “Sportswear” category or products order from this category).
For this purpose, we also receive information and statistics from our external advertising partners about demographics (such as age, gender, region), device and access data and the interests of our users. We ensure that our advertising partners only provide Flori Jewelery with aggregated, encrypted data or data that is anonymous to Flori Jewellery, so that we cannot assign the data to a specific person, in particular to a specific user. This information can help us to better understand our users, for example in the context of customer structure analyzes and user segmentation.
If you communicate with us or other users about products (e.g. product reviews) and other topics by telephone, post, social media services, contact forms or in any other way, we record the content of your communications.
If necessary, we will forward your messages to the office responsible for your concern, such as partner companies or manufacturers. In the event of a possible forwarding to another company (e.g. if you send us feedback to the manufacturer of a product), you of course have the option of informing us that your data should only be used by Flori Jewellery. In this case, we will not forward your request to the responsible body or only without your personal information, provided your request can be processed in this way.
If you send us messages for other users using functions intended for this purpose (e.g. product reviews), we can publish these within our services.
For certain purposes, we also collect data about your device’s current location when you use our Services.
If you share your device’s location services with a Flori Jewelery app, website or other online service, Flori Jewelery will process the location data collected from your device and provided to us in order to provide you with location-based services.
2. What does Flori Jewellery use my data for?
Flori Jewelery processes your data in compliance with all applicable data protection laws. Of course, we observe the principles of data protection law for the processing of personal data. We therefore generally only process your data for the purposes explained to you in this data protection declaration or communicated to you when the data was collected. These are primarily the purchasing process and the provision, personalization and further development as well as the security of our services.
In this chapter we also inform you on which legal basis (legal basis) we process data for the individual purposes. Depending on the legal basis on which we process your data, you may be entitled to special data protection rights – in addition to your existing data protection rights such as the right to information. For example, in some cases you have the right to object to the processing of your data.
3. Personalized Services
Developing and providing personalized functionality and services for you is our top priority. Regardless of location, time and devices used, we offer you an individual shopping experience and an offer tailored to your individual interests. The processing of your data to personalize our services is therefore an integral part of Flori Jewellery’s service.
With personalized services we can offer you better, more convenient and safer services. To do this, we use the data we store about you to draw conclusions about your needs and interests. Based on this, we can offer you more relevant content that better suits your needs and interests. Of course, you still have access to all content. However, through personalization, you see the content that is more relevant to you earlier or content is presented specifically for you (e.g. in the form of individual product recommendations).
Most of our personalized services require you to set up a customer account so that we can store the information we collect about you in a central location.
Data that we collect about you as well as your customer number (CustomerID) are stored in your customer account. The customer number is a randomly generated sequence of numbers that does not contain any personal data. Your data will be linked to your customer number so that you can be assigned to your customer account. In addition, the customer number also functions as a pseudonym.
The selection of personalized content is generally based on all the data stored in your customer account.
If device and access data is used that is not stored in your customer account, it will only be pseudonymized for the respective personalization (e.g. in connection with your customer number, but not in connection with your name or other directly identifying profile data). Duration of use used.
Not to be used:
- Credit data
- Information from campaigns and surveys
- Applications
- Messages (e.g. from customer service)
4. Information about websites
In addition to the device and access data that is generated each time you use these services, the type of data processed and the purposes of processing depend in particular on how you use the functions and services provided via our services. We also use the data generated when using our services to find out how our online offering is used. We use this information, among other things, for shopping personalization, to improve our services and for personalized advertising.
In principle, we collect all data that you provide to us directly via our services.
Device and access data
Every time our servers and databases are accessed, device and access data is generated, which is logged in so-called server log files. The IP address contained therein will be briefly anonymized after the end of the respective access as soon as storage is no longer necessary to maintain the functionality of the respective website.
We set up password-protected personal access for users who register for a customer account or another service. Unless you log out with your login data after logging in, you will automatically remain logged in to most of our services. Depending on the type of service, a cookie or similar technology is used for this purpose. This feature allows you to use part of our Services without having to log in each time. However, for security reasons, you will be asked to enter your password again if, for example, you want to change your profile data or place an order.
Shopping personalization
In our services, the device and access data generated during usage from usage analysis is used for shopping personalization. Depending on the type of service, common tracking technologies are used for this purpose using tracking pixels and identification cookies or comparable IDs (so-called tagging). In addition, our advertising partners may also collect your device and access data in this way to provide us with information about your interests and demographic data (such as age, gender, region) as you use our Services. This allows us to present you with advertising and/or special offers and services whose content matches your interests (for example, product recommendations that are based on the fact that you have only looked at sports shoes in the last few days). Our goal is to make our offer as attractive as possible for you and to present you with advertising that corresponds to your areas of interest. Of course, you can still use all content and functions. However, this onsite optimization allows us to show you content and features that are more relevant to you first. Onsite optimization is carried out automatically by our systems, which recognize that users have increasingly accessed products and content in certain categories.
